Tracy, West and Kimball teams each went 1-1 during a three-game crosstown series on Tuesday, March 12, at the Tracy Sports Complex.

Kimball coach Joe Hernandez said he appreciates having good local competition in advance of the teams’ respective league seasons.

Last year, Kimball (6-1) beat both West (3-2) and Tracy (1-2) during the first three-way series.

“They all made the playoffs last year and hopefully will make the playoffs this year and will contend for all three league championships,” Hernandez said. “To come out here with the split is still pretty good.”

The mini-tournament is a benefit event with no admission. However, Tracy coach Greg Smith said $250 in donations was collected for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Tracy 7, Kimball 2

Tracy senior pitcher Tayler Misfeldt has wanted to beat the Kimball Jaguars since her sophomore year in 2011, when Kimball beat Tracy in their first matchup. The Jaguars again beat the Bulldogs twice in 2012.

She had 11 strikeouts in the game.

“This is our first year coming out with a win and it’s such an accomplishment,”

Misfeldt said. “I’m so proud of my team and I’m happy with how we played.”

Senior Olivia Perea’s bases-loaded triple was the highlight of the Bulldogs’ six-run first inning.

The Jaguars’ four hits include a solo home run by senior Ariana Hawkins.

Kimball 6, West 4

Kimball sophomore Allison Corlis doubled to start off a three-run second inning.

Her hit gave the Jaguars a lead they never relinquished.

West climbed back into the game with a two-run seventh inning, however the tying run was left at the plate.

Kimball freshman pitcher Samantha Sarmiento went all seven innings for the win and gave up seven hits.

West junior pitcher Justina Farfan got the loss after she went six innings and allowed seven hits.

West 10, Tracy 4

The Wolf Pack collected 14 base hits in its win over Tracy.

West sophomore Shelby Weeks singled twice and doubled while senior Celena Carrisosa hit three singles and batted in two runs. Tornio hit a two-RBI double.

Alee Balanon had two singles and a double for the Bulldogs.

Farfan pitched seven innings for West and allowed nine hits for the win.

Briana Warner pitched the first five innings for Tracy and gave up six runs for the loss.
