U.S. taxpayers generate roughly $2.17 trillion. Our federal budget is about $3.82 trillion, our new debt is about $1.65 trillion, our national debt is $16.6 trillion, and the total budget cuts from sequester are $44 billion.
Even if Congress cut spending to balance the budget and saved $1 million per day to pay down the debt, it would take 2,740 years to pay off $1 trillion dollars and 45,484 years to pay off the entire national debt. This does not include the daily accrual of interest on the debt or the $122 trillion of unfunded liabilities due to Social Security or Medicare.
Each year, the federal government admits to wasting $125 billion through fraud or unaccountable money. How can our government waste $125 billion per year, while President Obama states it will be a “catastrophe” if we cut $44 billion? He has threatened to shut down essential services and furlough workers.
Beyond that, he has used the opportunity to scare the public by releasing 5,000 illegal immigrants, threatened general safety and inconvenienced travel in an attempt to trouble the American people and blame those who want responsible spending.
Obama may be trying to scare the American people that Republicans are going to cause people to suffer, but it is his lies and this fraudulent and deceptive government that is destroying America.
The framers of the U.S. Constitution feared an all-powerful government. They established checks and balances to limit the power of the government over the people. Over the years, our government has become larger, gained more authority over the people, and has become more corrupt.
If the government were a business, it would be in bankruptcy — and those running it would be in jail for fraud and deception.

More taxpayer money down the tubes.
Shelly, at least you see the truth, there's plenty of blame to go around and the only reason I'm using this forum for these recent posts is to challenge people like dd & doorsc who to this day ignorantly blame everything on Bush.
Hey dd & doorsc, you two are always including me in your alleged woman hating group so I have to ask, why is it Shelly and I get along just fine? We rarely agree on political issues and often have differing views on other issues yet always treat each other with respect. Broken english aside, me thinks you and not I be the problem.

PS, blaming Bush no longer cutis it.

Community Reinvestment Act
Pressue on the banks from the likes of Frank & Co to get what were basically unqualified buyers into homes.
Although he tried the failure of Bush to stop Frank & Co.
Bush was a spender, Obama is a bigger spender and by the time he's done will have increased the deficit 3-4 times higher than Bush.
Black unemployment rate under Bush, almost half of what it is under Obama.
Black home ownership under Bush, higher than under Obama.
The dot.com bubble which helped in the prosperity under Clinton burst and the economy was sliding when he left office so he basically dodged a bullet. Much of what he accomplished such as welfare reform which Obama is trying to destroy, was the result of the work he did with Gingrich. By the way, much of Clintons success happened after he moved towards the center and started working with Newt and those dasdardly republicans.
As a challenge to the ignorati please do not reply with personal attacks, instead try making me look foolish by proving the above facts are false - I won't hold my breath.
We need new blood in office. Not just the President, but EVERYONE! Wipe the slate clean and start anew...we can only wish!
Even if he rejected Paul Ryan's plan (guess we could not expect him to reach across the aisles, like he promised, nobody does that anymore), but he could still come up with a plan of his own.
Why does he feel the need to waste time screwing up senior care instead of fixing the economy. Nothing we expected is happening. I have to wonder if he does it because he has no clue how to help middle America. I think he does know how to pander to lobbyists. That's about all I see he has going.
I hope the media does turn the tide, because a lot needs to come out in the wash. There are too many unemployed young black males in America to call that a racist statement. Something needs to be done and I'm just not sure he wants to do the job anymore.
Just keep the border open, the propagation going, the milk flowing, the Head Start rolling, and the benighted metaphysics in tact.
The "It-can-happen-to-anyone" metaphysics of life exonerates us all.
