EDITOR,

I just finished reading the article (“Alleged hit-and-run continues to haunt council candidate,” Oct. 29 Tracy Press) regarding the vicious lies that someone is spreading about Steve Abercrombie. I am shocked and appalled that anyone could honestly believe any of this garbage.

I have known Abercrombie for almost seven years, and I can truthfully say that he is a very kind, caring man who wouldn’t hurt anyone. This man has always given himself to our town. He cares about the kids of this town. These allegations are absurd.

And I say to the person who started this malicious rumor — step forward. Show your face and show your proof.

Personally, I don’t think you will, because there is no proof.

It’s just sad to me that someone feels the need to malign a good man anytime, much less during the time he’s running for public office.
