Presidential

candidate Sen. John McCain will stop by Stockton

next month to deliver a speech at a fundraiser at the Stockton Municipal Airport.

The event

is free and open to the public.

Congressional

District 11 candidate Dean Andal, R-Stockton, will speak, too, as will local

veterans.

“We expect

thousands of people to show up,” said Ann Jordan, an event organizer and Andal

staffer. Jordan

said she expects mostly veterans, McCain supporters and Republican activists to

show up.

McCain,

flanked by secret service guards and the national press, will touch down at the

airport and deliver the speech all the same place.

The

following month, the conservative candidate will fly to Fresno for a similar rally.

“It’s such

an exciting thing to have a serious presidential candidate come here,” said

Frank Aquila, South San Joaquin Republicans leader. “To have him here in the Central Valley is great.”

That same

evening, McCain will attend a local Republican dinner fundraiser, Aquila said.
