Jesse Estrada of Sierra Nevada Construction

trowels a section of new sidewalk today at 10th Street and East Avenue as work continues on the last

phase of Streetscape. Workers are laying

down 1,600 feet of concrete sidewalks and ramps that include tactile strips also called “blind lines,” along with anti-slip wheelchair pads. Rain has slowed the cement work, but better

weather is allowing the crews to catch up and finish the sidewalk work, which is

expected to be completed in about two weeks.
