The Tracy United Competitive Soccer Club’s 16-and-under Strikers team captured the California Youth Soccer Association’s District 8 title at the District 8 Tournament in Tracy, held the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16.

The win means the Strikers will compete for the CYSA Association Cup in March.

The Strikers defeated the Tracy Titans and Tuolumne on the tournament’s first day, and advanced to the championship with a win over Ebbetts Pass on the second.

The championship game against the Modesto Ajax ended in a 1-1 tie, but the Strikers earned the title with a goal just one minute into overtime.

No game stats from the most recent tournament were available, but the Strikers compiled a 10-0 record in fall season CYSA play and finished in the top-three in every tournament in which it participated. They allowed only four goals in CYSA play.
