Newspaper holiday

The Tracy Press front office will be closed Saturday through Tuesday for the New Year’s holiday. Papers will be delivered Friday and Sunday but will take a holiday from delivery Jan. 2. The office will reopen at 9 a.m. Jan. 2.

End-of-year blood drive

Tracy Outlets will sponsor a blood drive from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday in the lounge area, 1005 E. Pescadero Ave.

Donors must be at least 16 and weigh at least 110 pounds. All donors need to show identification — but in return, they will get a coupon for a free Marie Callender’s apple pie.

New year at the Grand

The city will host a "Rhapsody in Taps" performance at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Jan. 19. Rhapsody in Taps is described as a leader in the worldwide resurgence of tap dance.

The Grand is at 715 Central Ave. Ticket prices range from $25 to $50.

New babies at Sutter

Sutter Tracy Community Hospital will offer two one-day childbirth classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 12 and again March 8. There’s also a series of Wednesday night classes Jan. 2, 9, 16 and 23 and again in March. The classes are free to couples who deliver their babies at the Tracy hospital.

Childbirth review classes are available for couples who have already taken childbirth classes. And sibling preparation classes are offered, too.
