A black man and a white man reportedly fought each other in the backyard of a home on the 1000 block of Darby Drive at 5:23 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. The two allegedly broke through a backyard fence from a nearby walking path. Before he left in a car, the white man — who allegedly had a baseball bat — reportedly told the caller’s husband that the black man had a gun, though the caller didn’t see the weapon. Officers were told that the driver of a car possibly involved in the incident had a gun. Police located a car that matched the vehicle’s description and arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly possessing marijuana. Tracy police received 157 calls for service Thursday, Feb. 28. The following is a sample of those reports. 12:19 a.m.: A 19-year-old man was arrested at the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road, for allegedly driving under the influence. Blood was drawn at the scene, and a tow truck was called. 5:33 a.m.: Police forced their way inside a house in central Tracy after a husband reported that his wife, who was allegedly intoxicated and holding a hammer, threatened to hit him. The woman was arrested. 3:07 p.m.: A 58-year-old man was arrested at the Royal Motel, 1201 W. 11th St., on warrants for burglary and arson. 4:39 p.m.: A man dropped a gun after walking through El Pescadero Park near Kavanagh Avenue. Several police responded and found a gun on Kavanagh, according to the police log. A 22-year-old man was arrested. 9:50 p.m.: Officers arrested a 30-year-old man on Reyes and Travao lanes on an outstanding San Joaquin County warrant.

4:37 a.m.: A Toyota R av4 rolled over on Valpico Road near Lakeview Drive, and one person was arrested on unspecified charges. At least one person was transported to a local hospital, according to the police log. The road was blocked off for several hours.
No wonder I didn't hear anything. 4:37 am, I was sound asleep! I'm glad it didn't happen on a weekday. My husband leaves the house around then and he leaves from that entrance.
