The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office is searching for an

armed man who stole money today from the 76 gas station on the 25600 block of South Mountain House Parkway

near Interstate 580.

Employees told officers that a man with a black,

semi-automatic pistol entered the station at about 4 a.m. today, according

to county sheriff's spokesman Les Garcia.

After the man took some money, he ran across the parking lot

and drove off in what might have been a black SUV, heading eastbound on South Mountain House Parkway.

Investigators refused to say how much money he ran off with.

"If anyone has seen the described vehicle, then we're

asking them to call Crime Stoppers," Garcia said.

Readers who have information about the robbery can call the sheriff's

office, 468-4400, or Crime Stoppers, 831-6847.
