The Delta Youth Football League playoffs are hitting home this weekend.

Sort of.

The DYFL’s top seed in the Novice division, the Tracy Cougars, will meet up with the No. 3 seed, the Tracy Raiders, at 11 a.m. Saturday at Downey High in Modesto in the second round of the postseason.

The DYFL’s top seed in the JV division, the Tracy Raiders, will meet the No. 3 Cougars at 1 p.m. at the same location.

Both teams met once before in the regular season. On Sept. 30, the Novice Raiders defeated the Cougars, 27-6, behind touchdowns from Carlos Jackson and Jourdan Johnson, and the JV Cougars defeated the Raiders, 20-8, with help from Wesley Thompson, Christopher Gutierrez, Deon Pinder and Jaylen Ransome.

The Tracy Buccaneers are also in the playoffs. Both the starts and rookies won their games last weekend in National Youth Football League play, but no additional information was available.

The Raiders’ varsity team results from last weekend were not available, but if that team won, it will also play this weekend.
