Get real with first names

EDITOR,

Regarding the Aug. 25 Our Town column, “Name your child seriously, soberly,” by Mike McLellan. I agree with the registrar of births, deaths and marriages that there is no way that a child should be able to go to school with the name 4Real.

Can parents imagine a kid coming over to hang out with your son or daughter by that name?

I don’t think Superman was quite an appropriate name, either, but if parents are naming their child after the first thing they see after birth, it can never be a good thing.
