Victor Garcia, 29, is charged with premeditated murder, street terrorism, personal use of a non-firearm weapon, and special allegations of a prior conviction. Samantha Garcia, 22, is charged with premeditated murder and accessory after the fact.
According to police, the brother and sister went to home of 22-year-old Phillip Sanchez — on the 200 block of West Whittier Avenue — before midnight on Sept. 19.
Witnesses said the two men fought in the street and that Sanchez collapsed on a neighbor’s lawn a few minutes later. He was reportedly stabbed multiple times.
Sanchez was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, where he died an hour later.
During the brief court hearing, Judge Franklin Stephenson approved a continuation request by Victor Garcia’s attorney, Robert Forkner.
Stephenson set the next hearing for 8:30 a.m. on March 21 in Department 35.
Both Garcias are being held on $2 million bail in San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
