Family night dinner

The Tracy Elks Lodge will have a Family Night Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the lodge, 6400 E. 11th St.

Barbecued chicken will be served.

Spanish-speaking fair

Agua Viva, a ministry of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, will have a family fair for Spanish speakers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1635 Chester Drive.

Choir signups

The Tracy Community Choir invites the public to sign up for a performance of “Home for the Holidays,” which will be at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts when it opens this fall.

Signups and practices will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays starting Aug. 14 at the Good Shepherd Church, 306 W. Eaton Ave.

Third- through fifth-graders will practice from 5 to 5:50; sixth- through eighth-graders from 6 to 7, and those in high school or older from 7:15 to 9 p.m.

Cost is $65.

Church carnival

The Crossroads Baptist Church will host a back-to-school carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at Larsen Park at Central Avenue and Ferdinand Street.

Interfaith raffle

Tracy Interfaith Ministries will sell raffle tickets for a new-car drawing to help raise the $400,000 needed to finish the new building on Grant Line Road. To buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a new Ford Mustang or Ford Fusion, call Tracy Interfaith Ministries, 836-5424.

The drawing will be Sept. 23, at the new building, corner of Grant Line Road and Parker Avenue.

Guide dog homes

Bright Eyes Guide Dogs for the Blind Puppy Raisers is searching for volunteers to raise puppies.

Adults and kids are needed to teach puppies obedience.

Youth symphony auditions

The Central Valley Youth Symphony will have auditions for new members Aug. 29 and 31 and Sept. 1 in Stockton.

Musicians ages 8 through high school are encouraged to try out. What the symphony needs most are young musicians who play percussion, trumpet, trombone, French horn, bass, cello and viola.
