Lorraine Mary (Alonso) Lathrop

Friends and family are invited to attend a prayer service Thursday for longtime Tracy resident Lorraine Mary (Alonso) Lathrop, 72, who died Saturday at New Hope Care Center.
Mrs. Lathrop and her husband, Glen, spent their first 20 years of marriage raising their children in Livermore. In 1977, they relocated to Tracy where they have lived for more than 30 years. She worked as an office manager for Dr. Severin’s medical office in Livermore for almost 25 years. She was also a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a member of Beta Sigma Phi philanthropic society, Las Damas women’s club and her local bridge club. Among her hobbies, Mrs. Lathrop enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, watcher the San Francisco 49ers, shopping on QVC and cooking holiday dinners for her family. Friends and family say she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Lathrop is survived by her husband of 52 years, Glen Lathrop; children, Greg Lathrop of Oregon, Cindy Fraser of Livermore and Jim Lathrop, and his wife, Lori, of Tennessee; grandchildren, Aimee Lathrop of Woodland, Jenny Fraser of Livermore, and Travis and Kyle Lathrop, both of Tennessee; siblings, Ernie Alonso and Linda Rowlett; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Alonso and Mary Johnson; and aunts and uncles, Rose and Antonio Lorono and Louise and Peter Macias.
Thursday’s services will begin at 11 a.m. at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., preceded by visitation at 9 a.m. Interment will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Memory Gardens, 3873 East Ave., in Livermore, followed by a reception at 2100 Pleasant View Lane in Livermore.
Donations in Mrs. Lathrop’s name may be sent to the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital Foundation, 1420 N. Tracy Blvd., Tracy 95376.

Former Tracy resident Raymond Edwin Hector, 91, died Friday at his home in Modesto. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. July 20 at Grace Lutheran Church, 617 W. Orangeburg Ave., in Modesto. Hillview Funeral Chapel, 451 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson, is handling arrangements.
