good eats:Cooks were busy Friday preparing sopas at the IPFES Hall for the Tracy Holy Ghost festa, an annual celebration of Portuguese culture. Thousands of pounds of meat were carved, seasoned and cooked to feed festa-goers this weekend. Clockwise from above, Bisilio Martins (from left) Alvaro Rodrigues and Joe Simas cut beef along the assembly line as they ready a batch of sopas at the Portuguese Hall. Joe Vargas pours beer on some steaks while Alvaro Rodrigues adds a spice rub as the steaks are prepared for a steak and oyster barbecue. Frank Romao (left) and Manuel Trigo dump a batch of meat into a pot. For the full festa lineup, see Page 6.
