Tritons fall to Manteca

The Tracy Tritons lost to the Manteca Dolphins, 857-823, at Sierra High School in Manteca on Saturday, despite the record-breaking effort of the freestyle relay team. James Thompson, Justin Phelps, Devin Brown and Bradley McCain bested the old relay time of one minute, 59.57 seconds set in 2000 with a time of 1:56:99.

For the 6-and-under teams, Meigan Loomis led the girls, placing second in the 50-yard freestyle and second in the 25-yard butterfly and freestyle events. For the boys, Caleb Andres took second in the 50-yard freestyle and the 25-yard freestyle and won the 25-yard butterfly event.

In the 7- and 8-year-old division, Madeline Loggins won both the 50-yard freestyle and the 25-yard freestyle, and Bryan Walther won the 25-yard breaststroke and took second in the 25-yard backstroke.

For the 9- and 10-year-olds, Alyssa Froiland won the 50-yard breaststroke and took second in the 50-yard butterfly and the 100-yard individual medley, while Angela Mesgarzadeh took first in the 50-yard butterfly and second in the 50-yard backstroke and freestyle events. For the boys, Kyle Kouda took second in three events, the 50-yard backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events.

In the 11- and 12-year-old division, Heather Porter won the 50-yard backstroke and breaststroke events and took second in the 100-yard freestyle. Justin Phelps took first in the 50-yard backstroke and freestyle events and the 100-yard individual medley.

Annie Cabri took second in the 50-yard freestyle, and Jennifer Porter took second in the 100-yard individual medley for the 13- and 14-year-old girls. For the boys, Justin Nool took second in the 50-yard backstroke and freestyle events as well as the 100-yard individual medley.

For the 15- and 16-year-olds, Danielle Daviscourt won both the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard individual medley, and Chris St. Clair won the 100-yard backstroke.

Sarah St. Claire won the 100-yard individual medley, the 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard freestyle events, and Corey Arana won both the 100-yard freestyle and butterfly events for the 17- and 18-year-olds.

The Tritons’ next meet will be Saturday at the Oakdale Invitational in Oakdale.
