No excuses not to be ‘green’

EDITOR,

The May 12 Town Crier column by Laura Hagler enumerated the difficulties of living a “green” life. Like Hagler, I feel I need to do more to combat global warming, but don’t have the unlimited time and money to do so. However, there is ample information to help us on our way.

The Stop Global Warming Web site has an action list with 30 things that each of us can quickly and easily do to reduce our “carbon footprints” without being very inconvenienced: http://stopglobalwarming.org/sgw_actionitems.asp.

Once I saw that list, I realized that my own excuses had to stop, because I found that I could immediately accomplish several of those steps at little cost.

I am still a neophyte, taking small steps when I can think of them, but now I know that there is no excuse for not doing my part.

Ronnie de Supinski, Tracy
