The Tracy High freshman baseball team met defeat in San Joaquin Athletic Association play for the first time in 2007 on Monday, losing to undefeated Lincoln (7-0 SJAA) in Stockton, 16-2, in five innings.

“We had our worst game ever,” said Tracy coach Frank Marty, as the Bullpuppies (6-1 SJAA, 16-7) made three errors and allowed nine runs in the first inning. “You can’t do that against Lincoln.”

Catcher Ricky Diaz was 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Jake Rivera was 2-for-2 with a run. Alex Flores was 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Kyle Perez and starting pitcher Robbie Jackman added a hit each. Jackman struck out two in 31/3 innings of work, and Flores recorded the final two outs.

Tracy will wrap up its season — and attempt to force the Trojans into a two-way tie for first — at 4 p.m. Thursday at home.

The Wolf Pack (3-4 Tri-City Athletic League) entered the seventh inning with a 6-3 lead, but coughed up five runs to the Rams (7-0 TCAL) on Monday at West High.

Michael Carrillo threw the first five innings, holding the Rams to two runs on seven hits, and Jeff Koury allowed one run in the sixth.

Kevin Walker and Carrillo both led the way with two hits for West, and Carrillo knocked two RBIs. Taylor Kruger hit an RBI double, and Marcus Pedroza and Tyler Palacios added hits for West, who will visit St. Mary’s on Thursday in the team’s season finale.
