Diane Glazier, former staff accountant and executive assistant for the Tracy Hospital Foundation, pleaded guilty Friday to mail and computer fraud before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Garcia in Sacramento.
The 45-year-old Tracy woman was accused of embezzling more than $200,000 from the foundation, a nonprofit that supports Sutter Tracy Community Hospital and pays for local health, safety and nutrition programs. She had previously pleaded not guilty to seven counts of mail fraud and three counts of computer fraud in the case.
Glazier’s crimes took place between 2002 and late 2005, according to a prepared statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office on Friday.
According to the statement, Glazier admitted to using the foundation’s American Express credit cards to buy personal items ranging from groceries to vacations to electronics for herself and relatives. She concealed her scheme by making false entries in account books to make it look like the credit card had been used for charitable grants.
Glazier is scheduled for sentencing July 13 before Judge Garcia in Sacramento. She faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison on the mail fraud charge and up to five years for the computer fraud charge. She also faces a fine of up to $250,000 for each count.
