• Heroes nominations

The San Joaquin County chapter of the American Red Cross seeks nominations for its Heroes Breakfast to honor those who have done extraordinary acts in the county.

Nine people will be honored in the following categories: young Good Samaritans, good neighbors, firefighters, law enforcement officials, medical workers, the military and even animals that have performed heroic deeds.

To be eligible, a hero must live or work in San Joaquin County, and the heroic act must have taken place here, too.

The breakfast is April 8, and nominations must be made by Feb. 28. Nomination forms are available at the Red Cross Web site, sanjoaquincounty.redcross.org.
