Students meet

West High School’s Freshman Academic Learning Community will host an informational meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Institute for Global Commerce and Government, 1904 N. Corral Hollow Road, in Room B5.

Al-Anon meets

Al-Anon invites those who live in a household where someone has a drinking problem to attend its meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday nights at the Heartland Church, 3402 Mars Court, Ste. 100.

Republican appreciation night

Former Congressman Richard Pombo, Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian and others will speak at an appreciation meeting sponsored by the South San Joaquin Republic Club.

Neuropathy meeting

The Stockton Neuropathy Support Group will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Fireside Room of the Central Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Ave., in Stockton.

Certified therapists Pamela Perrault, Helen Schweininger and Cassandra Stork will discuss how to relieve pain caused by neuropathy.

Tracy High Cheer Clinic

The Tracy High School cheerleaders will host a cheer clinic for kindergarten through eighth-grade students from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Tracy High School.

Cost is $40 and includes lunch, a T-shirt, a music CD, participation during a halftime show in the Jan. 24 basketball game and instruction in cheer motions, jumps, kicks, stunts and dance.

Franchise workshop

The San Joaquin Delta College Business Development Center will host a workshop on owning your own franchise, what you should look for in a franchise, how much it costs and other related topics.

Greg Roquet, president of The Franchise Network of Northern California, will speak.

The Calvary Temple Worship Center of Modesto will host a Women’s Health and Wellness Conference to discuss the 10 health tips for 2007.
