Two more Tracy gas stations were robbed over the weekend, and police officers hope to find out if sheriff’s deputies caught the culprits.
Lt. Ken Bunch of the Tracy Police Department said Tracy investigators are in contact with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department to see if a similar crime in that county is related. In that case, the Stanislaus County sheriff arrested three men suspected of committing a robbery in Westley early Saturday morning.
The robberies in Westley and two robberies early Friday morning fit the same pattern as holdups at the Quik Stop store on Lincoln Boulevard and at a gas station and market on Chrisman Road at Interstate 580 early Wednesday morning.
Friday’s robberies included a holdup just before 2:10 a.m. Friday at the am/pm store on the 2400 block of Joe Pombo Parkway. In that case, two men with masks and gloves demanded money.
Less than 10 minutes later, as police called other service station owners to tell them that a robbery had just occurred, Tracy Truck and Auto Stop at Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road reported two men in black had just robbed the store.
The clerk didn’t report seeing a weapon but told police that a customer might have seen a handgun on one of the men.
