Defense Distribution Depot of San Joaquin has been on
lockdown and Chrisman Road has been closed since 9 a.m. today after a
suspicious package arrived in the depot’s mail.
The package went through the depot’s X-ray machine, just as
all incoming mail to the depot does. Depot workers called San Joaquin County
Sherriff’s bomb squad after they found what a spokesperson at the depot called
Annette Silva, a spokeswoman for the depot, said she’s not
sure what’s in the package.
“They found something out of the norm,” she explained. “So
we’re just kind of in a holding pattern for now.”
