Tracy police on Friday got a warning that a LoJack anti-theft device had been disabled and a gray 2004 Ford Mustang had been stolen on the 2600 block of North Tracy Boulevard. A man in his 40s and one in his 20s reportedly had tried to purchase the car from a dealership using false identification and a false check. Using the car’s guided positioning satellite information, it was found. Three Visa credit cards were recovered inside the car. The thieves were not found.
The Tracy Police Department responded to 151 calls for service Friday, 167 Saturday and 164 Sunday. Here is a sample of those calls:
• A caller reported at 12:52 a.m. Sunday that a man in a black mask had slipped into her garage in central Tracy and slapped her in the face. She said he was looking for her boyfriend and that the man said her boyfriend should quit having sex with a particular woman. The voice sounded unfamiliar to the reporting caller.
• A caller reported at 1:02 a.m. Sunday that two men had been fighting near the 900 block of North West Street. The men were hitting each other so hard that the punches could be heard for blocks. Meanwhile, children were reportedly crying in a residence near where the men were fighting. The men refused to press charges.
• A caller reported at 3:02 a.m. Sunday that he thought someone had been poisoning his water well, but he had not seen anyone doing so.
• A caller reported at 6 p.m. Sunday that two men, possibly juveniles, had refused to pay for a meal they had eaten at a restaurant on the 2200 block of North Tracy Boulevard. At least one man was arrested.
• A caller reported at 11:57 p.m. Sunday that three men and two women had tried to pass two counterfeit $20 bills at a gas station on the 2400 block of Joe Pombo Parkway.
• A caller reported at 8:33 a.m. Saturday that someone had stolen a Richard Pombo political sign from her yard near the 700 block of Lammers Road.
• A caller reported at 9:03 a.m. Saturday that a woman had crawled into the window of a home near the 1800 block of Blueberry Court. The suspected burglar turned out to be the girlfriend of a resident.
• Tracy police at 10:58 a.m. Saturday arrested a 48-year-old man for extreme public drunkenness on the 100 block of West Ninth Street. The man was so intoxicated that he kicked the patrol car.
• A caller reported at 3:39 p.m. Saturday that a man keeps calling a business on the 2100 block of Dorothy Lane asking for someone who isn’t there. He then swears at the employee.
• A caller reported at 3:45 p.m. Saturday that a man with a gun was in the Tracy High School gymnasium on the 300 block of East 11th Street. The man was not there when police arrived.
• A caller reported at 3:59 p.m. Friday that a man had been screaming in the bathroom of a gas station on the 1900 block of West 11th Street. He left the bathroom, asked the attendant for a knife, left the business, returned and began screaming again.
