Lord God, our heavenly father, you created the universe and everything — and everyone in it. You gave us the right to choose for ourselves which of the many available paths we would decide to travel. Some of those roads are pleasing to you. But must of those walkways lead in directions that carry us further over time.
Most of us have learned what to do and how to act, originally from our parents and later from our peers and those we admire. They, in turn, are watching us as we mature together. Through the media we learn what is “acceptable behavior.” As parents, we teach our children as they learn from us.
But acceptable behavior has changed over the generations into way that would not have been permitted 40 or 50 years ago. We might know technical things our parents never knew, but many accepted things today would not have been tolerated when our parents were our age.
Having babies outside of marriage was never looked upon lightly in years past. Today, however, the pregnancy centers nationally deal with thousands of young women who are carrying children, many seeking an abortion. But because the local Pregnancy Resource Center and its national affiliates do not perform abortions, they must look elsewhere for the solution to terminate.
Technically, we have advanced over the years. Morally, we have declined in fulfilling the expectations that you hold up for us. Why? Because the standards in our society today say that sex and marijuana among our teens are not the shameful acts they once were. And the lies and cheating that are so prevalent in our world today were avoided by men and women of integrity in the past. Those wrongs of the past are today considered tolerable.
Violence and bullying in our schools are rampant today. Gangs are everywhere and people of all ages are being raped and murdered. Why? Because we no longer believe in morality once taught by our parents, morality that they learned in their homes, schools and houses of worship.
God, you take a back seat in our society today. And our world is paying the consequences. We, as a society, are allowing these tragedies to become everyday occurrences.
Our world needs to change. We need to return to godly values — values that used to be taught in our schools, our churches, as well as our homes.
We as a nation simply cannot allow these tragedies to occur in our land, where babies are murdered in cold blood in classrooms that once were free from violence on the scale we see today.
Lord God, I pray that you would change the hearts of our country’s leaders to allow and encourage godly values to return to America once again.

For example.
Many people from Tracy gathered over prayer vigils and piles of teddy bears that were left on the sidewalk several years back. Nobody turned away. All the businesses put up signs ((every single one)) in hopes to find a little one. A lost one. Still they remember.
But what you do is a dis-service to their hopes and their prayers that the world will become a better place.

After reading this I thought of the recent incident where a few teenagers were caught busting milk cartons at a grocery store.
When I was young and someone stole from someone their parents would march them back to the store and make them pay for it. I believe we are seeing a moral decay and some of it has to do with the parents not caring. If the parents don't care then the children will be worse off.
