Retired Tracy Fire Department Capt. Bud Halford led the funeral procession for former fire Chief Daniel Lewis “Danny” Watrous, who died Aug. 30, by carrying Watrous’ helmet before a parade of fellow firefighters and engines. The casket of the chief, who served in that capacity for 14 years before his retirement in 1988, was carried by Engine 9, the last engine he purchased.
