Grace Davis 3, West 0

Using a makeshift lineup, the West High volleyball team showed improvement over previous results but lost 3-0 to Grace Davis at West High on Tuesday.

After losing the first two games 25-9 and 25-15, the Wolf Pack (0-2 preseason) lost the third game 25-20.

“We were leading in that game — we just made some serving errors,” West coach Pete Mullen said. “We served 90 percent better (than last game).”

Mullen said the team showed marked improvement over last week’s scrimmage with Livermore. Using several sophomores and other girls playing their first year of volleyball, the Wolf Pack still have time to figure out their game plan before league begins later in the month.

West will host the Wolf Pack Classic Tournament Saturday at West High.

• The West sophomores lost 2-0, while the freshman won 2-1.

The Wolf Pack continued its preseason run through the Valley Oak League Tuesday. Since it was a scrimmage, no scores were kept.
