Albert McKnight of Modesto was identified by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s office as the man who died in a Chrisman Road crash Aug. 16.

McKnight, 57, was driving a motorcycle when a pickup driven by 44-year-old Maria Avila pulled out of a gas station in front of several motorcycles riding down Chrisman Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

McKnight couldn’t avoid the pickup and was killed, while passenger Janet McKight, 55, of Modesto, suffered major injuries, CHP said.

Another motorcyclist, Laury Chimerofsky, 49, of Salida, was also badly hurt in the crash, CHP said.

Donald Worsham, 45, of Riverbank, was involved in the crash but uninjured, Rickman said.

Rickman said the motorcycle riders were traveling at about 45 mph. The posted speed limit the stretch of road where the accident occurred is 55 mph.
