Two suspects pleaded not guilty Thursday to the shooting murder of a 19-year-old Tracy woman. Superior Court Judge F. Clark Sueyres ordered Zackarie James Beck, 17, of Tracy, and Luis Alonso Vega, 30, of Fremont, to appear at a preliminary hearing Sept. 21 at San Joaquin County Superior Court. The hearing may continue Sept. 22.

Jennifer Nicole Holland’s burned body was found in an asparagus field west of Stockton on South Woodsbro Road and West Highway 4 on Aug. 3.

Investigators believe she had been shot in the head at a house on the 17500 block of South Tracy Boulevard before being driven to the field and burned.

Investigators believe Holland’s alleged involvement with methamphetamine might have played a role in her death.
