Amanda Abbott and Justin Watkinson, graduates of Tracy-area high schools, will exchange vows during an intimate beach wedding April 27, 2013, in Pacific Grove.

The couple lives in San Ramon.

Justin proposed April 20, 2012, during a weekend trip to Monterey. As the pair listened to the crashing surf and distant sea lions one night on San Carlos Beach, he took a ring from the pocket of his jacket, which Amanda had been wearing, and dropped to one knee.

The bride-to-be, daughter of Lori and Dennis Abbott of Tracy, is employed as a kennel supervisor in Castro Valley. She graduated from Tracy High School in 2004 and earned her degree from California State University, Humboldt, in 2010. Her brother, Nicholas Abbott, lives in Tracy.

The groom-to-be, son of Mark Watkinson Sr. of Tracy and Denise Nakamura of Hayward, works as a supervisor in software engineering in San Ramon. He is a member of the West High School Class of 2003 and graduated in 2010 from DeVry University. His siblings, Daniel Watkinson, Mark Watkinson Jr. and Kelly Watkinson, all live in Tracy.

Following their marriage, Amanda and Justin plan to honeymoon on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
