Tracy’s 2007 downtown Christmas parade will be different from the 18 Christmas parades that preceded it.

Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, it will start at Sixth Street and Central Avenue, turn right on 10th Street and end at the new City Hall.

After the parade, there will be a tree lighting ceremony at City Hall.

Diana Koron, director of the Downtown Tracy Business Improvement Association, said she expects to see holiday floats, service groups, clubs and, of course, Santa Claus, in the parade.

Afterward in a ceremony outside City Hall, trophies will be handed out to the parade’s best floats and bands at 5:30 p.m.

For those who would like to be in the parade, applications are available at the Tracy Press, 145 W. 10th St. The lineup will start at 3 p.m.
