The forklift driver is Jeff Nelson. The 153,000-square-foot plant produced Thermax — fiberglass-reinforced plastic foam sandwiched between sheets of aluminum foil — used for construction projects. The plant, on Gandy Dancer Drive in south Tracy, is now owned by Dow Chemical Co., which has announced plans to close the plant by the end of the year.
