May is Older Americans Month, and Lolly Hansen Senior Center has filled its schedule with seminars, health fairs and entertainment.

Seniors will show off their art at an open house and exhibit Wednesday. The public is invited to walk through the center and visit representatives from local clubs, travel agencies, medical clinics and other various senior services. A complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served.

Recreational supervisor Kim Scarlata said the senior center has increased its emphasis on health.

“It’s so vital that seniors stay active,” she added. “That means not just physically, but socially and mentally.”

Other seminars throughout the month will share exercise tips, gardening techniques and nutrition information. Entertainment will perform during lunch each Friday throughout the month.
