Lt. Dominic Calderon, 23, graduated from pilot training Oct. 20 at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla.

He was recognized as a distinguished graduate and for his academic excellence. Calderon, a 2001 West High School graduate and 2005 U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, spent the past year in rigorous training and learned to fly the T-6 Trainer and the T-1 Jayhawk.

Calderon will continue to train in Oklahoma and will report to his first duty at Hicka Air Force Base, Hawaii, next spring.

Calderon is the son of Steve and Joan Calderon of Tracy.
