When West High School had Rush Week so students could sign up for clubs at the beginning of the school year, junior Eric Adamson showed off the latest in anti-zombie technology.

What looked like an old Texas Instruments calculator with duct tape and a 60-watt light bulb, he called his “fear-bot,” guaranteed to stop any zombie dead in its tracks. The “bot” is from a Japanese anime book called “Megatoyko.”

While Eric showed off the bot, he signed up students for the West High Anime Club.
