Ka’ron Hudson is being charged as an adult with assault with a firearm, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and an enhancement to inflict great bodily injury.
Deputy District Attorney Ron Indran said he wanted additional time to prepare his case against Hudson.
Judge Michael Garrigan was the sitting judge on the case, due to the absence of Judge Franklin Stephenson. Garrigan rescheduled the hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to send the case to a jury trial to 8:30 a.m. Feb. 20 in Department 35.
According to Tracy police, Hudson fired three to six gunshots into a crowd of people outside a Sweet 16 birthday party at 3502 Mars Court, Ste. 141, around 11 p.m. Oct. 13.
Police said the shooting occurred after an argument broke out between two groups of males outside the party.
Shot during the incident was a 17-year-old Tracy boy, who sustained a gunshot wound to his back-right shoulder.
The injured teen was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, and he has since recovered from his injury.
Hudson was arrested in Lathrop on Oct. 25, and he remains in San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall in French Camp on $1 million bail.
