A meeting to explore ways of resurrecting the Tracy Sports Hall of Fame is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 28.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Tracy Press, 145 W. 10th St., and is open to anyone interested in reopening the Sports Hall of Fame.

Already, a number of Tracy residents have indicated they will take part in the meeting. They include former Tracy High coach Wayne Schneider and Steve Thornton, retired West High basketball coach and athletic director, and Lina Longmire, who was secretary for the original Sports Hall of Fame.

The hall of fame recognizes the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams in a wide range of sports.

The original Tracy Sports Hall of Fame was started in 1982 and continued into the early 1990s.

Information: Sam Matthews, 830-4234.
