The accident occurred at 2:37 p.m. in the area of Chabot Court and Grant Line Road, just east of the city.
According to witnesses, one vehicle was being towed by a second when it somehow rolled over and struck a third passenger vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Officers requested to have a Toyota Tacoma and a Pontiac Firebird towed from the scene.
Tracy police received 172 calls for service Thursday, Jan. 10. The following is a sample of those reports.
9:24 a.m.: A guest at the Extended Stay hotel, 2526 Pavilion Park, was accused of stealing the television from a hotel room. Employees allegedly found the television missing from the room after the guest switched to a different room. It couldn’t be proven that the guest stole the television, so police documented the report. No further investigation is expected.
10:17 a.m.: Police arrested a 58-year-old man and his passenger during a traffic stop in the area of Kavanagh Avenue and Golden Springs Drive. The man was wanted for undisclosed charges. It was also discovered that the passenger, who is a minor, was also wanted unknown charges. The minor was taken to San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall, while the man was taken to San Joaquin County Jail.
3:32 p.m.: A 22-year-old employee at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 1210 N. Tracy Blvd., was cited and released for auto theft for allegedly allowing customers to take merchandise out of the store without paying.
