Mrs. Castrejon had been diagnosed with cancer 1½ years earlier.
Born in Mexico on Oct. 1, 1934, she worked 50 years at a family general store in Mexico before moving to Tracy 20 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and worked six years as a housekeeper at Heritage Place.
Survivors include six children, Hilda Gonzales, and her husband, Alfonso, and Angeles Juarez, and her husband, Jose, all of Tracy, and Carlos Gamez, and his wife, Margarita, Heberto Gamez, and his wife, Andrea, Maribel Espino, and her husband, Rafael, and Uriel Gamez, and his wife, Nancy, all of Chihuahua, Mexico; two sisters, Martha Barrera of Chihuahua and Juana Alvarez of El Paso, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 30 years, Lorenzo Gamez; parents, Miguel Castrejon and Getrudis Erives; and four brothers.
Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., and a vigil service will begin at 7.
