The socks — all kinds, in men’s, women’s and children’s sizes — have been given to Tracy Interfaith Ministries for distribution to families, said Kevin Vierra, sock drive chairman for the sponsoring Tracy Breakfast Lions Club.
Lions were joined by members of the Tracy police and fire departments in collecting the socks in barrels throughout the city.
“We have started what has become an annual Tracy holiday-season event,” Vierra said. “Tracy residents really responded to the call for socks.”
