The following city services and buildings are closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Friday, Dec. 27:
• City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza,
• Boyd Service Center, 520 Tracy Blvd.
• Police department, 1000 Civic Center Drive
• Fire department, 835 Central Ave.
Communications, emergency response teams and patrol officers for police, and emergency crews for fire, will operate on normal schedules.
There is no garbage collection on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Collection scheduled for those days is moved to the following day, Wednesday. Pickups scheduled for Fridays during those two weeks will be moved to Saturday.
The Lolly Hansen Senior Center, 375 E. Ninth St., and the city animal shelter, 370 Arbor Road, are closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
All services at the Tracy Library close on Christmas and don’t resume until Jan. 3.
The Tracy Press office is also closed on Christmas and New Year’s.
Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 26, residents can place their Christmas trees and other seasonal waste on the curbside for pickup.
Trees must be free of all lights, tinsel, decorations and stands, and those taller than 6 feet must be cut in half.
Gift boxes, wrapping paper, magazines, catalogs, envelopes, tissue paper, junk mail, cardboard, holiday cards, Polystyrene (No. 6) and plastic, glass and aluminum containers can all be disposed of in the recycling tote free of charge.
Holiday waste pickups continue through Jan. 11 and coincide with regularly scheduled trash pickup days.
