John Day, a volunteer at the nonprofit organization, said the group is handing out 700 baskets to families in Tracy.
But the group needs about 300 turkeys to complete the giveaway, he said.
Other items in the basket include rolls, pie, stuffing and vegetables.
Donations can be dropped off at Interfaith’s office, 311 W. Grant Line Road, this weekend. The distribution will be held at the office from Wednesday, Dec. 19 to Friday, Dec. 21.
Daniel Hawn, service director at Tracy Volkswagen, said the dealership is providing a 5 percent discount on all service work for customers who take in a canned food item.
Customers can receive up to 15 percent off their total bill, he said.
All donations will be given to Tracy Interfaith.
“I wanted to find the best place where food will stay in the community,” Hawn said.
Tracy Volkswagen is at 2605 Auto Plaza Way near the West Valley Mall.
