Employees at Walmart reported at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, that a man had stolen a laptop computer from the store, 3010 W. Grant Line Road, valued at $589.

The man was described as white, in his mid 20s and wearing a gray baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black shoes and blue jeans.

He allegedly ran out the fire exit in the home and garden section and got into a waiting vehicle. No description of the vehicle was available.

Tracy police received 162 calls for service Tuesday, Dec. 11. The following is a sample of those calls.

4:38 a.m.: A woman reported that her husband saw an intruder inside their home on the 500 block of Mahogany Lane. The husband pursued the person outside when he allegedly saw the person go up the chimney. The wife became concerned when she lost sight of her husband while he was outside. Ten minutes later, the wife reported that nobody was inside or on top of their house. The husband reportedly had a bad dream, and the call was canceled.

8:53 a.m.: Police arrested a 50-year-old man during a pedestrian stop in the area of Holly Drive and Manzanita Lane. The man was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance and was taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp on that charge, according to the jail website.

1:55 p.m.: A 28-year-old man was arrested after he failed to stop for police. The man was driving a Prius north on Corral Hollow Road when officers tried to stop him. He allegedly drove on several side streets before stopping on the 2100 block of Frank Blondin Lane. He was charged with possession or sale of a baton-style weapon and theft of utility services and taken to San Joaquin County Jail.

3:18 p.m.: Officers arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly crashed his Nissan truck into a tree in the area of MacArthur Drive and Valpico Road and then ran from the scene. He was located by police a short distance away and arrested. The tree, which belonged to the city of Tracy, had to be removed from the ground, the police log notes.
