This letter is intended to clarify some misinformation about the campaign yard signs stolen in the Hidden Lake subdivision and my home. An article and picture on the front page of the Oct. 26 Tracy Press made it seem that my home was the only one that survived the theft of all Republican campaign yard signs.
That was not the case. I actually reported to the police on Oct. 22 that seven candidate campaign signs were stolen from my yard and informed them that the whole subdivision’s Republican campaign yard signs also were missing. After I noticed mine were gone, I took a drive around the subdivision and noticed all the Republican candidates’ campaign signs missing. It just so happened that the only ones still left in yards were for Rhodesia Ransom and Democratic causes and candidates.
I am involved in the Republican Party campaign and have access to acquiring and delivering the yard signs, so I was able to replace mine and a few neighbors the very next day. It’s a shame that people feel the need to steal and trespass on private property — it just shows the bad character of the people and/or volunteers from in and outside our area helping the opposition candidates. It’s as if they think by stealing the signs that their candidates will win.
As of Oct. 28, I just noticed I had another campaign sign stolen. This not only a violation and invasion of my private property — as they had to come on my property to do it — but there also is a dollar value for each sign they steal, and for which the candidates pay money.
This is still a free America, and we should feel free to advertise for the candidates of our choice without the fear of theft on our private property. I realize this occurs during every election, but I noticed that it is getting worse each election year.
Our society’s morals and values are declining, which is the real problem, and we need to help train and teach this generation many things, like manners, honesty and integrity — and it starts at home. Be that great example, as action speaks louder than words.

Trillion dollar deficit
Unnecessary wars
Hate for America
Warped foreign policy
Tanking economy
The list goes on..........Back in Darkness
Clinton missing a chance to get Bin Laden rests soley with Clinton but the intelligence failures/communication carries over and I have conceded before mistakes were made by the Bush admin prior to 9/11. However, here's where things get sticky for people like you who blame everything on Bush.
History and the facts show Bush took action and whether you agree with those policies or not, we weren't hit again after 9/11 - at least not until after Obama took office. The economy which was on a slide when Bush took over due to the dot.com bubble bursting went into the tank. We came back rather quickly and things were going pretty well until guess what? The dems took over both houses. Coincidence? Maybe.
Going back to your comment, I concede you make a good point but under further scrutiny it falls short.
cont....
Obama was hired to get things fixed and so far he's failed, to wit:
We now have more people on welfare, food stamps, and below the poverty level than any time in our history.
We suffered the first credit downgrade.
The unemployment rate has only gotten better due to a drop in the labor force.
The unemployment rate for women is higher under Obama than under Bush, 50% of college graduates cannot find a job, the unemployment rates for black americans are through the roof, while as I correctly pointed out before, more black americans owned homes under the Bush presidency than at any other point in US history.
At what point are people like you going to get the fact the economic collapse, 9/11, etc were not exclusively Bush's fault? One more time, these events can be attributed to both parties and a number of presidents. I don't recall Bush or Clinton for that matter constantly blaming their predecesor, while that's all Obama and his obsequious and deluded followers seem to be able to do.
At what point will people like you start placing some responsibility for our dire situation on Obama, I'm sincerely curious.
Let me see if I can extend that logic to the Obama era. So even though we are in a deficit, the seeds of it were sown in the Bush era, so that would make Bush responsible for the trillion dollar disaster, right?
Now, if you would like to engage in some logic I'll use your reference to the 9/11/11 terrorist attacks.
The facts tell me and everyone who pays attention 9/11 was in the planning stages during the Clinton years. The facts also tell us Clinton basically had Bin Laden handed to him on a silver platter but passed on the chance to kill or capture him.
Here's where I'll throw in my logic, if Clinton had taken advantage of the chance to "get" Bin Laden 9/11 would not have happened. If we had better communication between our various security agencies, law enforcement, etc. 9/11 would not have happened.
Here's some additional logic for you. If not for the policies Bush set up after 9/11 Obama would not have had the opportunity to give the go ahead on the op to kill Bin Laden.
Here's an opinion. One of the only things Obama has done right is to maintain most of Bush's anti terror policies.
cont........
Obama - 3. Benghazi, Ft Hood, and the attack on the Little Rock recruiting office in 09. Oh but wait, I forgot the last two were man made disasters, trajedies, missteps, or whatever the hell we're supposed to call them these days.
In addition, no consulates were breached in the attacks during the Bush years, outer walls were breached I believe one time but not the consulate building, in Benghazi the consulate was completely overrun by the attackers. Again, big difference.
Perspective? Try some.
Perspective: enemy tactics evolve.
If it's more of the same race card divisiveness, the police acted stupidly, clean energy bankrupting cronyism, more free stuff, higher taxes for the 53%, my way or nothing, massive new debt, least transparent administration, EPA job killing regulations, and ObamaCare health insurance increases along with death panels...
Can I pass?
Time to move on and believe in the vision of the forefathers of America: America is a place for all to enjoy equal rights of life liberty love and happiness, where there is separation of church and state, where all people, regardless of class creed status or gender preference, including gays, enjoy equal rights. Time for Tracy to catch up with the rest of the nation, or at least with the Bay Area.
It appears Tracy is less divided than you think. Look at the election results. I think it clearly shows that you don't take the time to analyze, before you point fingers.
You have also consistently blamed Republicans for being "Talaban", ( your words); for all world's economic issues, and now even for the divisiveness.
With the blame game you are playing, it would seem you are not really part of a solution, here. Abraham Lincoln said, "A house divided cannot stand". This is not a new concept. It was a quote from thousands of years ago.
Other than that I'd like to compliment you on having the guts to apologize. Hey we all make mistakes - I know for a fact I am far from perfect, and it takes a little something special to realize the mistakes, own up to them, and apologize if appropriate. I've also read some of your recent comments and appreicate the different tone. The past is the past and if you are willing to move on then so am I.
I am the one who posted your bio here on the site (under the RealGoodMemory moniker). While I'm not apologizing for doing it, I am glad it was quickly removed by the TP moderators. It was done for a reason, it served its purpose, and then it went away.
As an FYI, we all know you're not debbdaves, but some of us do know who she is. If warranted, she could also find herself reading her own bio here in the near future.
I thougt your comments were tame in comparison to the other person. And I'm not condoning what RGM did, but it surprised me that the TP allowed her to get away with the profanity for so long. I did appreciate that debdaves stood up to tommybahama, when nobody else did, but then later she started doing the same thing, and even added profanity.
A wise person explained her actions with this Shakespearean phrase, "she hoisted herself with her own petard."
And that she did.
Like I said, I am surprised that the Tracy Press allowed it for so long.
But under the article where they deleted ALL the comments they said they will not tolerate it anymore, and it looks like they finally may mean business.
Good to see others in the community come together here.
You beat me at pointing this out but allow me to add, calling someone a socialist, communist, conservative, liberal, etc is not disparaging especially if it's accurate. These are nothing more than terms to describe someone's political belief. Heck Obama's buddy Van Jones is a self described communist.
On the other hand, equating republicans with the Taliban is without question disparaging and offensive. One would have to be completely detached from reality to do so.
Let's be clear about who the Taliban are, they kill women for committing adultery, shoot 14 year old girls in the head, mutilate and kill on a daily basis, and somehow some ignorant people decide calling Obama a socialist is no different than comparing some of us to murderers. Pathetic.
Newspapers unfortunately are going for shock value these days, even if they bill themselves as a family newspaper.
For them to allow debdaves to name calling other groups of people she disagrees with and stereotypes them as "Taliban" is pretty pathetic. But it unfortunately sells papers these days.
I did not agree when "tommybahama" made personal attacks on here and agreed with debdaves on that.
But what debdaves is doing is not right in my view.
And I actually agree with you on this one. I think the Tracy Press, for a long time has had a tendacy to leave up comments of liberal thinkers even the potty mouths on here.
And as someone else pointed out, I also think candidates that the Tracy Press sides with are treated special.
I guess you can do that if you own the newspaper.
It is good to know that others in the community are aware of it though.
FYI, debdaves did it again.
She managed to get the Tracy Press to delete ALL the comments under another TracyPress article.
This article happened to be about a drunk wreckless driver.
A win/win
:-)
"She managed to get the Tracy Press to delete ALL the comments under another TracyPress article."
If this came about the way RHCP stated, kudos to the new Press owners for jumping in and taking care of business without the bothersome need to investigate further.
Jon, Glenn, and the rest of the previous staff had trouble moderating too.
She made some comments and more comments there today, which I cannot repeat or the Tracy Press will delete.
Unfortunately the Tracy Press also removed ALL the commenters, even those who spoke out saying that what debdaves was doing there was wrong.
backinblack asked the Tracy Press to delete her comments because they were offensive and she kept doing it.
Finally the Tracy Press deleted all the comments and made iy so that nobody can comment there again.
It's their newspaper so they can do what they want.
I guess if someone like debdaves wants they can censure the mewspaper by harrasing any story they disagree with.
debdaves started the same thing under Mary's letter about the signs. I think she's trying to shut it down next.
BIB wrote: "if Obama wins a second term this country is done."
If Romney would have won we would have been doomed. Now we have a chance to grow.
I don't think we can survive 4 more years if that is all he's good for.
I stand by my opinion which is shared by tens of millions of other Americans. The republicans will take this country backwards and should not be allowed into office for the sake of our future generations. If that is hard for you to digest, read cosmopolitan. Just a suggestion.
When people use the word socialist as an adjetive to describe policies and bills in Congeress do you deny all and any truth to it?
In contrast, are you using the word Taliban as an adjective when you describe backinblack?
What you have done is called ad hominem. You may not have understood, but there is a big difference.
I've always thought your posts should be enshrined as a monument to name calling, erroneous and degrading thought, repressed speech etc. At no time should they be taken down.
Your opining is duly noted in regard to Republicans not being allowed to take office... no matter how many criminal acts some Democrat opponent may commit.
You are a consistent source of wonder. Please, don't change.
Until the comments of debbdaves are pulled and I mean all of them, as far as I'm concerned you guys are complicit in the nonsense which goes on in your comment section.
