Services will take place in Oklahoma for the Rev. Glenn Toliver, 93, who died Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Grove, Okla.

Born Sept. 18, 1919, Rev. Toliver served as associate pastor of First Assembly of God in Tracy and other churches in Northern California.

He served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II and became part of the U.S. Air Force upon its inception in 1947. During 21 years of active military service, he participated in secret Cold War air missions.

After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Sharpe Army Depot and twice visited Vietnam as a supply specialist.

He left civil service and returned to Vietnam as a missionary for Assemblies of God, establishing a drug rehabilitation program for U.S. and South Vietnamese soldiers.

Survivors include five children, Darlene Carkins and Ronald Toliver, both of Grove, Larry Toliver of Elk Grove, Linda Toliver of Lacey, Wash., and Terry Toliver of Rocklin; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy Toliver; and a son, Andy Toliver.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that contributions in Rev. Toliver’s name be sent to Milan and Janice Novick Missionaries, Acct. 2391910, Assemblies of God, 1445 N. Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802-1894.
