Lisa Barnes, a club member, said donated books will be sold during a sale from Nov. 13 to 16 to raise money for classroom supplies and holiday parties and fill other needs at the school, 4256 Windsong Drive.
First, though, Barnes said, the school needs to gather as many donated books in as many genres as possible.
As of Friday, Oct. 12, the collection was expansive, Barnes said.
“It’s really any kinds of books. The books we have already collected are from preschool age to adults,” she said. “We have a little bit of everything.”
Barnes said books can be dropped off at the Traina School main office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Oct. 31.
Books will likely be sold at prices ranging from 50 cents to $5, she said.
“Some of them have been read more than others,” she said.
Another way to help
This weekend, a few local residents are hosting a garage sale to benefit a trio of regional charities.
Colleen Garin and two friends will be selling new and donated items beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at 67 Primrose Court.
All proceeds from the sale will be divided among Autism Speaks, Bay Area Down Syndrome Connection and World Vision.
