Two men from Tracy and one from Mountain House recently earned Bachelor of Science degrees from Union Institute & University, a private school that specializes in distance learning.

Jim Haskell of Tracy, a Tracy Fire Department captain, earned his degree in emergency services management in May.

Benjamin Ashby of Tracy was awarded his degree in criminal justice management in July.

Michael Land, a Mountain House resident, also graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Union, a nonprofit, offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees through a combination of online courses, residencies and classroom instruction.
