Patrick, a graduate of West High School’s Class of 2000, proposed to Kijana at sunset Feb. 18 on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Kijana, daughter of Diane and Roland Atkins of Aurora, has five brothers and three sisters. She works in treasury management sales for US Bank and holds an MBA from Regis University. Her grandparents are Lillie and Richard Pounds and Catherine and Joseph Atkins Sr., all of Colorado.
Patrick is the son of Ellen and Victor Bailey of Tracy and grandson of Karl Handwerk of Woodside, Robert Bailey of DeMoines, Iowa, and the late Gertraud Handwerk and Earnestine Bailey. His siblings are Michael Bailey, and his wife, Shannon, and Danielle Bailey, all of Manteca, Margaret Shulmeister of San Jose and Modesto Wiggins of Tracy.
At West High, he played football and participated in Tracy Unified School District’s FEAST program. Since then, he has earned a bachelor’s degree in food service management from Johnson & Wales University, and he is employed by Epicurean Catering.
During Saturday’s ceremony, the bride will be attended by Nacrice Bryant, Jolene Wallace and Danielle Bailey. The groom’s attendants will be Gabrielle Fernandez, Willie Oliver and Michael Bailey. Makenzie Bailey will be the flower girl.
The newlyweds will cruise to Hawaii and then make their home together in Aurora.
