A man was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, after he was found unconscious on the second floor of the Best Western Motel at 811 W. Clover Road. Motel officials said the man wasn’t registered at that hotel and he was found holding a beer with a 24 pack of beer on the floor next to him. They concluded he was probably unconscious because of intoxication.

Tracy police received 178 calls for service Wednesday, Oct. 17. The following is a sample of those calls.

6:59 a.m.: A truck was reportedly broken into on the 1600 block of Bessie Avenue.

7 a.m.: A homeless man was advised to move along after his encampment was found on the 700 block of Stonebridge Court.

8:15 a.m.: A business clerk reported someone in an orange and white truck stole a rack of plants from Orchard Supply Hardware, 1975 W. 11th St.

8:31 a.m.: A woman told police someone stole her purse from her car while she was getting gasoline at Safeway, 1987 W. 11th St. She said she was only missing some keys and miscellaneous paperwork, because her wallet and cell phone were still in the car.

10:03 a.m.: Thefts from vehicles were reported on the 4400 block of Twin Creek Court, 2600 O’Hara Drive and 1900 Court Drive.

2:49 p.m.: Teens were seen writing graffiti with a black marker in Lincoln Park, 170 E. Eaton Ave.

3:48 p.m.: A woman reportedly approached a child inside Safeway, 1801 W. 11th St., and told the child to empty his pockets. Police checked and found the woman was a security guard at the store.

4:47 p.m.: A woman said someone stole items from her late father’s backyard and vehicle on the 100 block of East Emerson Avenue.

7:55 p.m.: A man was spray-painting graffiti on a train near the 1500 block of Spring Court. Police were unable to find the man.

7:17 p.m.: A woman said a man tried to rob her using a handgun on the 3200 block of North Tracy Boulevard. She said he approached her with the gun and asked for her money. She said she refused and he left walking south on Tracy Boulevard. Police were unable to locate the man until the woman called again and told them the man was near Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road. Police arrested a person who was not identified for robbery and a parole violation.

11:56 p.m.: A couple allegedly stole a man’s car at the 76 Station at Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard. He told police later on that his girlfriend had the car and she had left him, thinking he was going to get arrested. He said he no longer wanted to report the car stolen.
