Organizers of the Jefferson 4-H Club are inviting local children and teenagers to get involved and learn by doing.
Through 4-H, boys and girls gain research-based knowledge and hands-on experience in their areas of interest.
Last year, the Jefferson group had 38 members. Marlene Hokanson, who has been involved with 4-H since her 17-year-old daughter was in fourth grade, said she anticipates that this year’s group may be larger.
Projects for 2012-13 will involve robotics, cooking, arts and crafts, and raising and training animals, among other topics.
The group’s October meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the Jefferson School cafeteria, 7500 W. Linne Road. Newcomers and returning members are welcome.
Open enrollment will continue until Nov. 19 for children and young adults 5 to 19 years old.
